日本ジェンダー学会について

Japan Society for Gender Studies (JSGS) is the first academic society for gender studies and women's studies in Japan which accepts a male researcher as a member of the organization.
Founded in 1997 under the purpose of creating new perspectives, JSGS is getting widely known to those who have interests in gender issues.
Male members consists almost forty percents of the body now, and seats for board of directors are held equally by both sexes.
It has recently published a book titled Introduction to Gender Studies.
Global Forum on Women's Culture Kyoto 2001 was held in Kyoto International Conference Hall on 23 September 2001 by Japan Society for Gender Studies.

　日本ジェンダー学会は男女両性の研究者によって1997年に創設された学会であり、男女の共同参画によって学際的・国際的なジェンダー研究を進めている。日本学術会議の学術研究協力団体としての認定も受けている。
　会員の性比は女性対男性が６対４、意思決定にかかわる役員の性比は５対５である。研究誌「日本ジェンダー研究」を年１回、情報誌を年２回刊行するほか、2000年４月には冨士谷あつ子・伊藤公雄監修、日本ジェンダー学会編『ジェンダー学を学ぶ人のために』（世界思想社）を刊行した。
　毎年９月に学会大会を開催しており、その他にもさまざまな研究会やセミナーを企画・実施している。2001年９月23日（日）には国立京都国際会館において『世界女性文化会議・京都2001』を、2005年11月25日（金）、26日（土）にはローマ大学において『欧日ジェンダー研究フォーラム』を、開催した。
