This year we celebrate 30th
memorial year between Japan and Mekong Regional Countries. For this
Japan Mekong Memorial Year Japan Association of Gender Studies shall hold international conference on
“Labour and Culture among Japan and Mekong Regional Countries”.
Japanese Manga is very popular in Mekong Regional Countries. And
Japanese companies enter into South-East countries, employing so many female
workers. Human trafficking problem is connected with Japan. Japan has received
female persons suffering from human trafficking and Japanese male persons have
sexual relationship with human trafficked women. So we will discuss 3 themes to
consider the relationship of Japan and Mekong Regional Countries from the
viewpoint of gender studies.

Note:
Japan Foundation shall provide costs of travelling and accommodations in Kyoto. You may buy air ticket at your country and receive a receipt. At the conference room we will pay air ticket charge against a receipt.
Presenters shall be requested to submit a report (about 10 pages , A4 edition) in English till the end of October.
Japan Association of Gender Studies must present final report to Japan Foundation till the end of April 2010.
Presenters can use OHP or power point of computer.
30 minutes are schedules for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion.
